                1990,  Sandy Hershelman has worked professionally as a 
                writer 
              and photographer. Based in Port Hadlock, Washington, her byline
                 has appeared in local, regional and national publications, including
                
              the Port
              Townsend 
              & Jefferson County Leader, the Olympic Peninsula
              Business Journal, the Olympic Business Journal and The
            Sequim Gazette. 
            Sandy's 
              extensive writing, photography, marketing, Web design and desktop 
              publishing skills benefit her numerous business and service organization 
              clients.She was named the 2008 Business 
              Leader of the Year by the Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce. 
             The
                Washington Newspaper Publishers Association honored Sandy
                with a number 
              of "Better Newspaper Contest" awards for her reporting. 
              They were in the categories of: "Best Comprehensive Coverage,""Government
              Affairs,""General News Stories" 
              and "Best Humorous Feature." 
            The Jefferson
                  County Fair's website was a First
                Place winner in the Washington State Fairs
              Association's  2007 and 2006 Web Page Contests.  
            Sandy presented "Effective
                HBA Websites" at the 2006 National
                Association of Home Builders' EOC Seminar in Connecticut. 
            Sandy's "Fort
                     Worden Searchlight Tower" photo was chosen to grace the Gatheringplace's
                      2001 Port Townsend calendar. Her "Lone Oarsman" was "Best
                       of Show" in Seafirst's 1995 "Faces of Washington"

              School
                  Planning & Management magazine awarded the Chimacum 
                  School District its "1998 Community Relations Award" 
              for its Chimacum School Matters district newsletter. 
               
              Sandy has
                   written, edited, and done the layout of Chimacum School Matters,
                    since its inception in January 1997. Since
                    the mid-1990s, she has also created most of Chimacum Schools'
                  bond and levy campaign informational brochures. 
            In 1998,
                 when the brand-new Port Townsend television station, PTTV
              47, needed an on-air interviewer, they called Sandy. Since
               PTTV's inception, she's covered numerous elections and 
              co-hosted some Town Meetings, as well.
