Sundial Bridge
Redding Sundial Bridge
Redding, California

Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Sundial Bridge spans 700 feet across the Sacramento River. The pylon is 217 feet tall – that's roughly 20 stories. Nearly a mile of cables support the $23.5-million bridge. In April 2005, Time magazine named Calatrava one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
